Sains have them. I've asked last time when I wonder if I can purchase a few of them for personal use but they couldn't because it have to be sent back to Sains.

I wonder... where do all e-wastes go. Hope Sains gives them out for free. (Nearly impossible Suspect )

Quote:
actually i'd rather they open up those so-called 'open labs' as 'open study area', and considering the number of students who own a laptop, i think it would be a good idea for an 'bring-your-own-laptop open lab' Very Happy

Agree. Might be a good idea since there are not enough plugs for everyone in the library.

As far as I have heard of, either they give to those rural schools to use or dump it somewhere in a store and leave it there.

Not for taking anyway. Free lunch is rare but hell of a good time when there's one. Surprised
Call me when there are free 'giveaways' (or rather dumps).

Message to ITS: Please block FB games! Students are hogging computers for FB games while they're out for lunch.

FB game addicts are getting out of proportion now. Sooner or later institutions are going to start worrying about decreased productivity because of this issue.

Hmm.. right. But bad for businesses. "Happy Garden" addiction is becoming a big issue in Taiwan now, if anyone's watching the Taiwanese news.

lecturers have to do post-sem reports regarding the performance of the students in their class

so if a subject has very high failure rate, the teaching staff's credibility will be at doubt...

if one can point out the influence of the games to the board and have them pay attention to it, then we'll see some action taken on

well, for one, i think it has caused inconveniences to other students who want to use the computers when gamers are hogging the computers JUST FOR games. Neutral

Heard that FB was blocked when some officials came visiting yesterday. Felt happy for a moment actually.

It can be blocked. I've checked out the naruto game and because crunchyroll was blocked, the game does not work too. Maybe they can do that.

Even I working at the ITS don't know where they send those old PCs to. They tend to pick a few "useful" ones for emergency swapping.

ITS was kind enough not to block those FB flash games, but then again they reduced FB's download speed to a minimum. Did you notice that now FB flash games are loading slower than before?

Blocking FB is not the main point, it's the games inside that create FB addicts for most of the time.

This means self-control campaign (same goes to our 'Guitar Hero', he's out of control)!
